of the Report is summoned we should be glad if the
interests of "one Bonz University could be represented.
Has anything been settled yet about this Conference?
Ye should pronnee, if you agree, as a precaratory
step, to ask the Governor to supply his observations
generally on the names of the Report to which I have
referred and to instruct him to obtain from the
University authorities a memorandum describing the
work now done by the University in science and
engineering, the develongents possible if funds were
increased or equiment supplied, and the position es
regards supply of technical books and periodicals
(cf. page 134 section 295 *by supporting universities
in China with plant and literature").
I may add that this is a subject in which
